Monthly Full Moon Associations
With many traditions, folklore and magickal paths, you will find many
different monthly Full Moon associations. Each arrangement has it's own value and uses, and one does not negate
another. These associations are simply the ones that resonate with me, and here follows a brief explanation.
January
Full Wolf Moon
The wolf is a fearsome creature of the night, a companion to God of the hunt and
protector of the family. This is a month where we look to the safety and comfort of home. It is a time for endings
and beginnings, to refect on the past and plan for future.
February
Full Storm Moon
This month is the last full month of winter, and usually gives us quite
the storm. This is a time for breaking old habits, facing challenges and planning for future.
March
Full Chaste Moon
This is the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. Everything is new/pure
again. It is the time to plant seeds of desire and set new goals.
April
Full Seed Moon
This is a time of growth; a time to begin planting the herb garden.
It is the time to put plans into action.
May
Full Hare Moon
A time when fertility and romance blossom. A time to nurture the plans that
you've put into action.
June
Full Dyad Moon
A time of union, equality and duality. Physical and emotional energies
are high. A good time to travel. A good time for friends, romances and partnerships.
July
Full Mead Moon
A time to plan for wine and ale making. It is also a time to start planning
for when you reach your goals.
August
Full Wyrt Moon
Wyrt is a term that means herbs/plants. August is the time of the first
harvest. It is also a time to focus on your goals, and for preserving what you have achieved.
September
Full Harvest Moon
A time when grains are harvested. A time to realize and celebrate your goals.
This is also a good time for magick works of success and abundance.
October
Full Blood Moon
This is the month of the last harvest. Death surrounds us as the fertility
of the Earth has passed. This is a time to prepare for winter and to protect what you have achieved.
November
Full Snow Moon
This is the beginning of the dark season, the beginning of winter. It is
a time of relection.
December
Full Oak Moon
The mighty oak withstands the hardships of winter. This is also a time for
hope and healing.
Blue Moon
The Blue Moon is the second Full Moon of a calendar month. This is an event
that does not happen very often; approximately every 2 and a bit years. It is a time of high energy. A time good
for special magickal works.
